Last month, after watching the Great British Sewing Bee I was inspired to do my own Transformation Challenge!

I dug around in my wardrobe to find an unloved and long forgotten about item of clothing, and found this one.

I'm still not an expert at altering clothing, so wasn't sure of the best way to go about it. I figured the best way of measuring where to cut was to just put the top on and mark the lines with pins - it was quite a delicate and scary process taking it off afterwards!

My main plan was to alter the neckline, sleeve lengths (I really dislike mid length sleeves, either be short or long please!) and the length of the top.

So, taking a deep breath, I cut off most of the sleeves and hem line, and, taking an even bigger breath, trimmed the neckline. And it went quite well! After I realised the top would look nicer with a more defined waist, so off came from fabric. Sewing it back together too less time than I anticipated, making sure that my 'measurements' were correct definitely took the most time.

And here's the final result:

I'm really pleased with the final result - while not as drastic as the transformations on the Sewing Bee, it will definitely be worn more!
