Yesterday I received an email announcing that the artwork I submitted for a Remembrance Species 2020 Exhibition has been chosen to be part of it! Raising awareness for the huge number of animals which are in danger of or already succumbed to extinction is so important.
The online exhibition was organised by Lunetario Editorial Independiente, Laura Luna Castillo and Bell Lungs, with the aim of raising money for two animal centred charities. Umbral Axochiatl (based in Mexico and focused on conservation of the Axolotl) and the Scottish Seabird Centre (a educational conservation centre in Scotland). Please browse the whole exhibition here: https://www.lunetarioeditorial.com/remembrance-species-2020-exhibition

My artwork is of the Amur Leopard, which, according to WWF, is critical endangered with only approximately 84 individuals. I wanted to show the creep of extinction into the animal's world but without it being aware of the situation. I really enjoyed the process of making this artwork, and the time it gave me to reflect. This is the first digital artwork I have completed, with more on the way!
